Students at the University of Oklahoma Main campus have become accustomed to a sight which has greeted them whenever entering the loop since early this spring—a large banner held by members of the Carpenters Union No. 329 who have been engaged in a lengthy labor dispute with the University over hiring Green Country Interiors, Inc. which only hires non-union workers, and pays its workers substandard wages with no benefits. The Carpenters Union has demonstrated against Green Country before in 2009 when it was contracted by the University of Tulsa. Green Country has engaged in threatening and abusive tactics to union members and underbidding on contracts to keep out union contractors.
